Since its establishment, the International Association for Law and Interdisciplinary Studies (IALIS) (https://www.lawandinterdisciplinarystudies.org/) has hosted numerous lectures by distinguished scholars and has organized or co-organized multiple academic conferences, symposia, lectures and other events in collaboration with institutions worldwide. Its partners include the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at Peking University, the Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Macau, the Center for Economic History Research at Tsinghua University, Yale Beijing Center, the Inter-Civilizations Institute at East China Normal University, the Education University of Hong Kong,University of Tsukuba in Japan, College of Arts and Media at Tongji University, Peking University Press, Guangxi Normal University Press, Chinese Legal History Society (CLHS), Eastern Legal Culture Division of China Institute of Legal History (CILH),Baidu, the global scholarly platform “Global Studies Forum” and its affiliated “Global Network for Chinese Law, Society, and History,” China Law Journal, La Nouvelle Jesunese, WISEHUB, One Way Street Tokyo.
In August 2025, the International Association for Law and Interdisciplinary Studies (IALIS) launched the "Global Symposium" series and has already held three symposia in Tokyo, Japan. All of the aforementioned academic activities are in-depth, forward-thinking, and cover a wide range of topics, fully embodying the Association's mission of "promoting research in law and interdisciplinary studies."
Building on its existing academic activities and achievements, the International Association for Law and Interdisciplinary Studies (IALIS) will host its first international academic conference from October 3 to 5, 2025, at the Kobe Yamate Campus of Kansai University of International Studies.
The conference theme is:
Beyond Borders, Beyond Disciplines: Law and Interdisciplinary Research in the 21st Century
This conference aims to explore how "law" functions as an institution, ideology, and methodology to transcend disciplinary boundaries and engage in interdisciplinary dialogue with fields such as history, political science, philosophy, classics, literature, cultural studies, film studies, economics, sociology, anthropology, and more. We welcome scholars from around the world to present original research findings and contribute to the deepening and expansion of interdisciplinary research.

Submission Guidelines
- We sincerely welcome proposals in the following formats: individual papers, paper panels, roundtable discussions (including book discussions, thematic discussions, etc.) Each panel may have up to 6 participants, including 3–5 presenters, with an additional discussant or an open discussion format. The panel chair may be a presenter or the discussant.
- Please indicate your preferred participation method (in-person attendance on October 4 or fully online) and any specific time constraints in your submission. The conference will coordinate in-person or online presentations based on venue capacity and overall scheduling.
【Lightning Sessions】 This international conference will feature multiple “Lightning Sessions” for showcasing books and research, as well as for emerging scholars to present their work. The Lightning Sessions will include graduate student workshops (for both doctoral and master's students), undergraduate student workshops, and Book and Research Showcase Roundtables. The graduate and undergraduate workshops aim to encourage young scholars to present their research ideas and preliminary findings in a concise and focused manner; the "Book and Research Showcase Roundtables" particularly welcomes recently published academic books and ongoing research projects to foster academic dialogue and interdisciplinary exchange.

There is no registration fee for this conference. A light breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on-site on October 4. Accommodation and transportation expenses are the responsibility of the attendees.
Eligibility for Participation
All speakers selected for this international conference are cordially invited to join the International Association for Law and Interdisciplinary Studies (no membership fees apply). Upon receiving the official confirmation letter, participants will be invited to complete and submit the membership form to finalize their registration. Invited panel chairs or discussants are not required to submit the membership forms.

【闪电论坛介绍】
本次国际会议将特别设立多场线上“闪电论坛”，为青年学者和新近成果提供展示平台。线上闪电论坛包括研究生专场（涵盖博士生与硕士生）、本科生专场，以及“著作与研究分享圆桌”。
研究生与本科生专场旨在鼓励年轻学者以简短、集中的方式展示其研究构想与初步成果；“著作与研究分享圆桌”则尤其欢迎新近出版的学术著作与正在进行的研究项目，以促进学术对话与跨学科交流。

第1回国際会議 【発表者募集案内】

【ライトニングセッションについて】
本国際会議では、若手研究者および最新の研究成果を発表する場として、複数の「ライトニングセッション」を特別に設置します。ライトニングセッションには、大学院生セッション（博士課程・修士課程を含む）、学部生セッション、および「著作と研究ラウンドテーブル」が含まれます。大学院生セッションと学部生セッションは、若手研究者が簡潔かつ集中した形で研究構想や初期成果を発表することを目的としています。一方、「著作と研究ラウンドテーブル」は、最近出版された学術著作や進行中の研究プロジェクトを特に歓迎し、学術的な対話と学際的な交流を促進することを目指しています。
